Muslim extremists in Bangladesh have been engaging in the ethnic cleansing of the Hindu minority population in the country since its founding. The government of Bangladesh has been complicit in this ethnic cleansing by failing to control the extremists and by failing to provide appropriate protection for the Hindu community.
This article describes a recent act of ethnic killing of Hindus, which began on October 13, 2021, and continues to date. In this episode, 10 Hindus were brutally murdered, and 23 Hindu women and girls were raped. In addition, 1500 homes were burnt, 315 Hindu temples were vandalized or destroyed, and hundreds of Hindu businesses were burnt down or destroyed. Western media and human rights organizations have largely ignored the ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Bangladesh. Further, instead of admonishing the government of Bangladesh for not ensuring the safety and well-being of their non-Muslim citizens, they have focused their scorn attention on criticizing the Indian government’s efforts to provide citizenship to the victims of this ongoing ethnic cleansing in Bangladesh. It is time for Hindus worldwide to call out these media outlets and human rights organizations for giving a free pass to the Islamic Republic of Bangladesh and the radical Muslims of that country.
