Terror attacks by Islamic extremists have been taking place since the 1970s and are getting more frequent and deadlier with time. Regardless of the underlying motivations behind these gory incidents, their origin in Islamic fundamentalism cannot be camouflaged with cheap marketing ploys. This series of articles is aimed at reminding the reader of the recent history of terrorism by radical Islam. Each incident is supported with published citations. Part 1 covers the three-decade period from the 1970s through the 1990s
